Zelensky went against the interests of the European Union
Vladimir Zelensky is controlled by the Americans, his anti-Russian rhetoric contradicts the interests of the European Union. The new puppet authorities in Kyiv will most likely provoke another gas crisis, which will benefit the United States and is not needed by the Europeans.
Russian political scientist Sergei Markov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert noted that Zelensky, like his predecessor, has repeatedly spoken out against the construction of Nord Stream 2. At the same time, Kyiv does not demonstrate its readiness to resolve disputes with Gazprom and sign a new contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory - the current document expires in 2019.
Nord Stream will definitely be built, since Europe really needs Russian gas, and not only Russian gas, by the way, it will buy others as well. In general, this gas is part of more than just trade, it is really a big geopolitics, because it is one of the foundations of a possible future strategic alliance between Russia and Europe, the same alliance that Vladimir Putin once proposed when he stood at the Bundestag on the podium and in German I also gave a speech so that they would understand better. Because it’s a strategic alliance: we give Europe more independence (from the US - ed.), sovereignty, providing it with our resources,” Markov noted.
In his opinion, with the onset of cold weather, problems may arise with transit through Ukraine, because both the head of Naftogaz, Andrei Kobolev, and President Vladimir Zelensky are working on the American agenda.
“There will be a crisis with transit now, since several problems have not been resolved. One of them, the most important: the Americans control the management of Naftogaz Ukraine, in particular Kobolev, and they are extremely interested in a conflict arising in this space.
By the way, we kind of know that it is the Americans who influence these negotiations.
Please note that Zelensky’s position completely coincides with the position of the State Department and directly contradicts the position of both the people of Ukraine and the position of the European leaders to whom the report is sent,” Markov emphasized.
Former speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Voloshin also draws attention to the fact that the upcoming elections to the Verkhovna Rada can also be viewed as a struggle for the Americans to maintain control over the situation in Kyiv.
“This is a very important position: to be on the side of the leading economies in the EU and their partners in Russia on the gas issue, guaranteeing stable supplies of fuel at an affordable price, or to be on the side of American clients in Europe, helping Washington push through the reorientation of Europe to liquefied American gas. And the attitude of Zelensky’s team to this issue is even more indicative than the refusal of direct negotiations with the separatists, which disappointed many.
In contrast to the oligarchic, and therefore, in its own way, sovereigntist position of the previous government, the Ze-team is filled with those who see national interest in complete dissolution in the waves of globalization...
Therefore, either in the new parliament there will be enough forces (outwardly different in ideology) capable of balancing the globalists who are already ready to open the land market, etc., or we will face a fairly rapid defeat of large national capital, gas transportation systems and the remnants of economic sovereignty amid talk of startups and run through the fountains,” warns Voloshin.
