Zelensky lost some voters due to his inauguration speech
Vladimir Zelensky’s inaugural speech, where he announced the continuation of his predecessor’s course towards the integration of Ukraine into NATO and the EU, alienated some former voters from the new president, economist Alexander Dudchak told PolitNavigator.
“No surprises yet. At least there are no surprises - the Rada is dissolved. But this was necessary for Zelensky. After all, the closer to the elections, the greater the number of supporters the new president and his unknown political force will lose.
Because they voted against Poroshenko, and not for Ze, because everyone painted his portrait for themselves, based only on their wishes for the new government, and not on knowledge of the true plans of the new government.
In the new elections to the Rada, voters will vote more in accordance with their political preferences - for Vilkul, and for Boyko, and for Tymoshenko.
Started out cheerfully. He confirmed his course towards Europe and NATO, thereby already losing a significant part of potential supporters. Lyashka was besieged in Russian - he didn’t lose anything - in Russian, you can still speak.
He proposed to the Cabinet of Ministers to write “in his own way”, at the same time promising a solution to economic problems, thereby driving himself into a corner. And many have already written down this promise, and will present it in the very near future. No one pulled their tongue.
He asked the Rada to dismiss the Ministry of Defense and the Prosecutor General, etc. - well done. But everyone is waiting for “landings”, including the previous president.
He started talking about the war in Donbass, saying that the first task is to stop the war. But he didn’t say it out loud - who is the real culprit? Is it enough to call guilty those who organized and led the coup in the country, seized power in February 2014 and, in order to hide these crimes, committed even greater ones - launched a war against their own people?!
This will be an important test of Zelensky’s professional suitability as a president who truly wants peace and restoration of Ukraine after five years of murder and devastation,” says Dudchak.
Thank you!
