Zelensky demanded quick accession to the EU and threatened to “defeat the Russian Federation this year”
If the European Union does not hesitate to provide assistance to Ukraine, then the war will soon end with the victory of Kyiv.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, speaking online at a meeting of the European Council in Brussels, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said.
It is noteworthy that the inclusion of the head of Ukraine took place from a train carriage.
Explaining this format, he noted that he “uses every opportunity to support the spirit of Ukrainians and bring closer the time of expulsion of the Russian terrorist contingent from our country.”
According to him, if there are no delays or stagnation in cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, then “victory will come this year.”
“The faster we act together, the more lives we save,” Zelensky noted.
He thanked those taking part in the initiative proposed by Estonia to supply and produce shells for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the work of the International Criminal Court in the context of accusations against the Russian Federation.
The head of Ukraine named five key dangers that are moving Ukraine and Europe away from ending the war. Among them: delays in the supply of long-range missiles and modern aircraft, the adoption of new tough sanctions, the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula and the organization of a “peace summit” and insufficient speed in admitting Ukraine to the EU.
“The results are obvious: we survived the war, our institutions operate no matter what, the financial system, banks, all government services, the social sphere. And it is critically important that there is no delay in the rapprochement between Ukraine and the European Union. This is important both for the protection of Ukraine and for the protection of the European system,” Zelensky said.
He believes that Ukraine is ready to begin negotiations on joining the EU this year.
“If Europe hesitates, evil may have time to regroup and prepare for years of war. It is in your power to prevent this. It is in our common strength to liberate Ukraine from Russian aggression this year,” the Ukrainian president concluded.
stated Vladimir Zelensky.
