Zelensky demanded that Poroshenko cancel Rotterdam+ and report on his offshore companies
The current President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, must disclose all information about his offshore assets before leaving office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The leader of the presidential race, Vladimir Zelensky, made this demand to his opponent in the second round.
The candidate's campaign headquarters on its Facebook page published a list of eight demands for Petro Poroshenko, who is likely to lose the presidential post after the second round of elections.
“We demand that before the end of his term as President of Ukraine, he publishes a list of his offshore companies, the banks in which these companies have accounts, as well as the financial statements of these companies for the last five years,”
– noted in the statement.
In addition, Poroshenko, through the parliamentary majority and heads of law enforcement agencies controlled by him, is obliged to “ensure the adoption of a law abolishing the declaration of income and expenses for public activists; restart the work of the NACP (National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption) by forming a new composition of this body with the participation of international experts and introducing an external audit of its activities; ensure the adoption of an electoral law to implement a proportional system with open lists in the next parliamentary elections.”
Zelensky’s team also insists that Poroshenko provide measures that will help unblock the start of the work of the High Anti-Corruption Court, deprive the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police and other law enforcement agencies of their powers in the fight against economic crime, and also stop their pressure on business entities .
To try to minimize the damage that the chocolate king and his team have caused to Ukraine during their five-year reign, he must quickly eliminate the “Rotterdam+” scheme, which determines the price of coal for the production of electricity at thermal power plants. With this methodology, approved in 2016, the forecast wholesale market price of electricity is formed according to the formula “cost in the port of Rotterdam plus delivery cost to Ukraine. Experts have repeatedly criticized it, noting that Ukrainians have to overpay for electricity.
Petro Poroshenko responded to Zelensky in the spirit that his demands cannot be met, since this requires a vote in parliament. This position of the current president’s team was criticized by the former deputy head of Viktor Yanukovych’s administration, Andrei Portnov.
“The main state gunsmith Irina Gerashchenko said today that Zelensky’s demands to Poroshenko to ensure the adoption of a number of legislative decisions cannot be fulfilled, because this is the competence of parliament, as if hinting at Zelensky’s unprofessionalism.
Especially for stupid people who are out of touch with reality and do not understand the basics of law, Zelensky demanded that Poroshenko ensure that these decisions are made through the parliamentary majority he controls, and not by his own Decree or the instructions of the State Fish Committee.
You can’t be such stupid gunpowder workers, you need to get down to the ground and quickly follow the prescribed instructions and instructions. The magic word is run!” Portnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
