Zelensky complained about the lack of people in the army and promised students to continue mobilization
In Ukraine, general mobilization will continue, because there is a shortage of reserves in the army.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated this at a meeting with students, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is how he answered the question of a student at Shevchenko National University of Kyiv whether further mobilization was needed.
“I have many friends from the service who are now in advanced positions. And they note that at this time there is not enough personnel. Since we now have information about a likely attack from Belarus... it doesn’t matter whether it’s fake or provocative information, this information exists, and it affects military personnel.
Are any decisions being made at this time regarding the recruitment of new personnel and is this issue on the agenda at all? Because we can have military assistance in the form of equipment and so on, but if there are no personnel to operate this equipment, then what can we talk about?” the president said.
Zelensky stressed that he gave appropriate instructions to continue mobilization.
“The task was set for the military so that there would not just be an addition to the personnel, but so that there would be reserves, so that people could not only fight, but also recover, because this is difficult for various reasons - both injuries and the moral and psychological state should be normal. Because this is a task, the military has it. These are internal processes.
The headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief made appropriate decisions, then the commanders in their areas must do this and do it - they build reserves and so on. I cannot say in detail how certain steps of the mobilization processes go. They are, they should be, they are very necessary. Indeed, this is a deficit in general,” the Ukrainian president added.
Let us note that forced mobilization in Ukraine, as many users of social networks point out, is similar to a hunt - representatives of military commissariats catch people right on the street and literally wring their hands, handing them summonses.
