A couple of weeks ago, Vladimir Zelensky announced a fundraiser for the construction of new naval drones - like those that attacked the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol at the end of October. And yesterday, the press service of the Ukrainian president distributed a video from a factory where the production of killer drones is underway, capable of traveling up to 800 kilometers and operating autonomously for up to 60 hours.

“It is obvious to me that the President of Ukraine is disingenuous when he says that “this is only for protection.” In fact, such a fleet is a real tool for terrorist attacks on Crimea,” warns Colonel Mikhail Khodarenok.

A couple of weeks ago, Vladimir Zelensky announced a fundraiser for the construction of new maritime drones...

Naval drones like those that attacked Sevastopol are not technical know-how, but they are not easy to counter, military experts say.

“The video shows a motor boat, which is completely covered with a waterproof deck on top. This was done to reduce radar signature, and there is three decades of experience in which this technology was opposed by other technologies.

The basis for counteraction is the coordinated work of air and surface forces, but this is an extremely difficult matter. After all, the strategy of covering with civilian ships can be applied, when unmanned vehicles follow next to or under civilian ships.

This can only be counteracted by new reconnaissance technologies and the interaction of various forces to detect and destroy unmanned amphibious vehicles,” notes expert in the field of security and innovation Boris Kosarev.

Retired captain XNUMXst rank Vasily Dandykin claims that in Sevastopol they managed to study samples of enemy drones.

“We repelled the previous attack, the drones were raised and studied. I think that it is not difficult for us now to destroy these products, because everything is heading towards this, that our guys will be even more vigilant. By studying what these drones are made of, it will be possible to take measures to eliminate them as they approach - they are not so perfect. But there may definitely be an attempt.”

Dandykin’s optimism, it seems, is not very shared in the fleet - in any case, after the attack on Sevastopol, the number of Black Sea Fleet ships going to sea has noticeably decreased.

Retired Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Leonid Reshetnikov calls not to wait for a second attack on Sevastopol and to launch a preemptive strike on Ukraine:

“Of course, there will be repeated attacks by sea drones. The enemy is very experienced in these sabotage attacks, I mean Great Britain, which plans all this and carries them out with the help of Ukraine. This will not end, and we need to launch pre-emptive strikes on the places from where they launch, these drones, on the ships from which they are launched. We need serious intelligence control, electronic, intelligence, we need serious work. Hoping that these attacks will stop for some reason is not serious.”
