Zelensky will bring peace if he strangles those raised by Kolomoisky
Even if showman Vladimir Zelensky wins in the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine, society, inflamed by nationalist propaganda, is unlikely to allow the new head of state to take any serious steps to establish peace in Donbass.
Russian writer, ex-deputy battalion commander and former adviser to the head of the DPR Zakhar Prilepin stated this on the TV Center channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“No drastic decisions will be made. The most serious thing that Zelensky must do is to neutralize the radical right representatives of Ukrainian society - to isolate them somewhere, to intimidate someone, to force someone out of the country - so that they (new authorities in Kyiv, - ed.) could actually negotiate with Donbass. As long as they are manipulated by people with torches, in masks and everything else, of course, there can be no talk of any negotiations,” Prilepin said.
Answering a question from Zvezda TV channel journalist Nadana Friedrichson about whether Zelensky has the potential to move the military conflict into a negotiated channel, the writer noted that everything will depend on his ability to take full control of his own special services.
“How much he will work with the security services, how much he will be able to control them. I don't know his potential. Many people (we need to take control - approx. ed.), choke one at a time,” Prilepin replied.
