Zelensky was horrified by his ratings
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky could decide to deprive the opposition Ukrainian TV channels NewsOne, “112 Ukraine” and ZIK of the broadcasting license due to a drop in their ratings, and the West and international human rights organizations would prefer not to pay attention to such a violation of freedom of speech.
Rodion Miroshnik, a representative of the LPR in the political subgroup of the Contact Group for resolving the situation in eastern Ukraine, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If in Ukraine they could kill thousands of people in the Donbass, put undesirable people in prison for a different point of view, why did someone decide that they would not agree to an illegal and unconstitutional purge of the media and an attack on freedom of speech?!
Zelensky himself, as a famous person and president, was born of television. That’s why he knows the power of the media better than most. He was horrified by his collapsed ratings, his curators blessed him and he took this unprecedented step, even for boundless Ukraine.
I am more than sure that in the West both states and international human rights organizations, incl. and those called upon to defend Freedom of Speech simply will not notice this chaos; at most, they will get off with an expression of concern,” Miroshnik said.
He is confident that opposition political forces are not able to withstand such pressure, and the court will side with the authorities in such matters.
“The OPZH leaders seem to have already resigned themselves. They are not ready for street confrontation, they did not take tough actions in parliament, and they were deprived of media leverage.
Statements that they will go to court are from the evil one. In a country where the president is blocking the work of the Constitutional Court, hope for judicial decisions in issues such as this is doomed to failure in advance,” the Lugansk politician believes.
