“In order to restore the historical traditions of the national army, perpetuate the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian statesman Hetman of the Zaporozhye Army Ivan Mazepa, I decree: To assign the name of Hetman Ivan Mazepa to the Ada class corvette of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in the future to call this corvette Ivan Mazepa,” notes in the decree.

The laying of the ship took place in 2021 at a shipyard in Istanbul.
