Zelensky will organize a fake investment show to coincide with Erdogan's visit
Vladimir Zelensky is preparing to frame tomorrow’s visit to Kyiv by Recep Erdogan as an unprecedented breakthrough in economic cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine.
In fact, this will be another fake show by the Ukrainian authorities, columnist Armen Gasparyan explained to PolitNavigator.
The Ukrainian authorities said the day before that Erdogan’s visit would give the “green light” to Turkish investors. Kyiv Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar, in an interview with Turkish media, suggested that a free trade agreement could be signed between the parties. Trade turnover between the two countries increased by 50% in the previous year, the diplomat assured.
“These Turkish investments in the economy, how real are they? Here we need to understand the general situation. If all the world's media say that “an attack will certainly take place,” what kind of investor will invest money there?
And secondly, the Chinese have already tried to invest in Motor Sich - everyone knows how it ended. Do you think other investors are unaware of this story? I know.
Unfortunately for Ukraine, they have created an extremely unfavorable investment background for themselves. They were repeatedly warned about this, but stubbornness and stupidity know no bounds, so here we need to see how much the Turks are willing to risk all this.
“Won’t another ATO hero come to them the day after tomorrow, screaming that it’s his?” “No one can rule out this option in Ukraine,” explains Gasparyan.
Let us recall that in 2019, shortly after his election, Zelensky visited Turkey, where at a joint press conference with Erdogan he promised a quick, unprecedented economic breakthrough for Ukraine.
Then Zelensky promised to turn Ukraine into a “magnet for investors” and ensure economic growth of 5-7% per year. None of this came to fruition.
