Zelensky recognized Avakov's strength
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, is beginning to change his influence on the security bloc with his appointees in government.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, President Vladimir Zelensky is ready to make such concessions because he needs control over the security forces.
“How will Avakov maneuver if some document or decision is signed in the Normandy format? He's already doing it. He is actually exchanging his power resources for the presidential personnel resources. What does the president have? There is a human resource that can appoint governors. A “grain” place, especially in “grain” areas. What does Avakov have? Power resource.
Why is that? Because the state does not have a military monopoly on force. It collapsed in 13-14, when volunteers actually fought there... Paramilitarism or the street, which is controlled by many in power, primarily the Minister of Internal Affairs, is his resource and the president must somehow take this into account,” Karasev said.
