Zelensky called on the countries of Eastern Europe to unite for a war with Russia
During his visit to Poland, Vladimir Zelensky stated the importance of celebrating the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and called on the countries of Eastern Europe to fight together against Russia.
He spoke about this during a conversation with his colleagues, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During his speech, the Ukrainian president spoke very confusedly, hesitatingly, and exclusively about his country.
“I am sure that this is a really important day for all countries (the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - editor's note). And we are here – Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, because we all support Poland.
International partners constantly support Ukraine, our territorial integrity, our sovereignty. I am grateful to you all. This is very important today. When a part of Ukraine is annexed - our Crimea peninsula and when we have a war in the east. This is the war in Europe. It is very important that we are together.
We have been fighting for independence for many decades. And today the same thing is happening in the east of our country. We are again fighting for our independence. Ukrainians have always fought for their independence, their nation and their country, someone has always written laws for Ukraine - we were part of one empire or another. Therefore, our trust in legality, in law, in international laws is quite skeptical,” Zelensky reasoned.
He added that the Ukrainian Constitution was proclaimed only 25 years ago – before that there were “difficult times” for Ukraine, which was part of the Soviet Union
“In 1991, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, when we won our independence, there was no strong trust in the law, when some officials were plundering the country. And finally, in 2014, during the Revolution of Dignity on the Maidan, supporting the European course, unfortunately, hundreds of our wonderful Ukrainian young citizens died, who again fought for independence, the same European course,” the president wrote.
Zelensky also boasted of legislative initiatives and “internal reforms” that are being carried out in the country. After which he returned to the topic of war again.
“Today there is a war in the east. And everyone understands that this war is again for the independence of Ukraine. But Ukrainians have been doing this for so many centuries - I’m sure that this time no one will give up their independence,” the showman summed up pathetically.
