Zelensky will continue to glorify Bandera

The new President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky will continue the course of his predecessor in glorifying the OUN-UPA, which can already be seen from his actions and words.

Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“You know, in general, this position always amazes me: “Let’s not escalate, let’s sort of ignore the fact that there are Nazis somewhere, somewhere they’re going on a rampage - and everything is going down.” Here is a law that de facto prohibits the Russian language in the entire public sphere, that de facto prohibits Russian-language media. “Well, let’s not escalate, let’s wait, Zelensky will come and change something.” Otherwise we don’t see Zelensky’s position on Bandera now?

So they tell us: “Bandera’s guys, whatever, there’s a bunch of them.” At the same time, look, the current President Poroshenko, speaking about “victory” and “massed Immortal Regiments,” immediately praises the UPA, in his own speech, Bandera’s followers. What is Mr. Zelensky doing? They get a veteran who is passing from power to power, Ukrainian, from the time of Yushchenko, one war veteran, they use him, and they put him on billboards, and so on, who goes everywhere and gets in touch with Bandera’s supporters. So Zelensky also came, congratulated this veteran, brought him to Bandera’s granny - this is yet another reconciliation.

And do we think anything will change? That Zelensky will change something? I don't understand this position at all. And why doesn’t he try to take it, the Jew Zelensky will come up and say: “I reconcile my ancestors with the executioners of Auschwitz.” It’s scary and blasphemous to even think about it. And, for sure, what a noise there would be in Europe if such thoughts appeared... And we think that something will change, that he will change the law on languages, cancel these shameful decisions of Poroshenko or the Verkhovna Rada on the glorification of Bandera, the UPA and etc? Of course not. And we see this in his actions and words,” the expert noted.

Joining his words, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov noted that it will take more than one election period to clean up everything that destroyed Ukraine after the coup.

“In fact, what happened over these five years is, in fact, not a game; the foundations of this nationalism were laid that we will have to eradicate for many more decades. And if someone thinks that it is possible, as a result of an election campaign, to win the elections, and all these problems will go away somewhere, it would be naive to believe.

I think that in order to cleanse this government, which has brought nothing but misfortune to the Ukrainian people, we will have to go through two, three, five more elections, both presidential and parliamentary - in order to clean up all this, everything that has been done as a result of the coup d’etat that took place in Ukraine in 2014,” added the former people’s deputy.

As PolitNavigator reported, Zelensky recognized Bandera as a normal and cool hero
