Zelensky will continue to flirt with neo-Nazis
The silence of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky regarding demolition of the monument to Zhukov by the Nazis in Kharkov encourages right-wing radicals to commit new acts of vandalism.
Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes about this.
“The monument to Zhukov, demolished amid the hooting of the crowd, became the first “victim” of the election campaign to the Verkhovna Rada that began in Ukraine, allowing a number of political forces to earn “points” from this crime. As for Zelensky’s silence, in such a situation it looks ambiguous and encourages radicals to new “pseudo-performances.”
The demonstrative refusal of the first person in the Ukrainian state to intervene in the Kharkov conflict raises reasonable suspicions that the new president, like his predecessor, will continue the strategic line of flirting with neo-Nazis in the name of an unrealistic civil peace in Ukraine,” the publication sums up.
