Zelensky lost to Tymoshenko
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky should not have gotten involved in a squabble with the leader of Batkivshchyna, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik.
“In 2 months, Zelensky’s rating has fallen by 10%, but still remains quite high - about 60% support. First of all, he was hit by the land issue; in addition, the president is burdened by unfulfilled election promises. The fight against corruption is not going well enough, tariffs are rising, and so on,” the expert said.
“Against this background, Tymoshenko went into opposition to Zelensky’s course,” Bortnik recalled. “Confrontation with her has never brought any president to any good. But cooperation with her did not help anyone. For example, she was part of the team of Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko. Zelensky did not need to react to it at all. Most likely, it was an instinctive emotional reaction on his part. As a result, Zelensky lost to Tymoshenko in this round.”
As PolitNavigator reported, after Tymoshenko’s announcement about joining the opposition Zelensky walked over her figure.
In response to Tymoshenko washed Zelensky who had fallen to the bottom.
