Zelensky traded South-East for Volker
The elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has so far managed to maintain religious impartiality against the background of the losing position of the OCU, but otherwise he demonstrates his complete external dependence.
Political journalist and TV presenter Vyacheslav Pikhovshek said this on NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a dynamic of non-recognition of the OCU: not a single local Orthodox Church in the world has spoken out in favor of recognizing the OCU, and this is, perhaps, a trend. If they did this under pressure from politicians, it would have been done before the presidential elections in Ukraine. If this is not done, there is a high probability that local Orthodox churches will not recognize the Epiphanius-Filaret structure,” the journalist said.
He noted that while the elected president of Ukraine demonstrated rationality and caution regarding the religious issue, in general his political position is “worse than the governor’s.”
“Zelensky’s anti-Russian escapades, for example, the fact that we have one common theme with Russia - borders, from my point of view, indicate that for Zelensky, the approval of the collective West, such as Volcker, is much more important than the support of the South-East, and this electorate is the most actively and voted for him,” added Pihovshek.
