Zelensky: We will brainwash the population and drag Ukraine into NATO
Ukraine will continue its course towards the European Union and NATO, which was legislatively enshrined in the country’s Constitution under the previous president Petro Poroshenko.
In an interview with the 1+1 TV channel, which was held in the gym, the new head of state, Vladimir Zelensky, said that when the entire Ukrainian population is “prepared” for this idea, the issue of membership in Euro-Atlantic structures will be put to a referendum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have an independent country, and this is our choice, our course. I have always said that our course towards Europe is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, and our course towards NATO is, first of all, the level of security of the country and our army.
I said that we must inform every Ukrainian what NATO is, that it is not so scary, and when the Ukrainians are all ready, we will definitely put this issue to a referendum. Ukraine will definitely be in NATO,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that Zelensky, during a press conference following a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, said that the Alliance’s presence in the Black Sea needs to be increased to “contain Russian aggression.”
