Zelensky provokes Moscow to secede Donbass
Ukraine will have to comply with the “Steinmeier formula” and implement the Minsk agreements. Otherwise, Moscow will stop communicating with Kiev and Donbass will be lost forever to the country.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, yesterday’s speech by President Vladimir Zelensky at the UN General Assembly and the repetition of the anti-Russian rhetoric of his predecessor indicate that Zelensky is not ready to move towards resolving the crisis.
“Many of my colleagues say that Kyiv will have to agree to the Steinmeier formula and so on. Don't know. This is possible, but I don’t see such high chances that this will happen. Let's see. But this is critically important in order to preserve the chance to reintegrate Donbass into Ukraine. But if there, latently, on Bankovaya, there is an idea that it is possible to procrastinate, to replace concrete actions with various conversations in the direction of moving along the path of the Minsk agreements, then this may end in us losing Donbass irretrievably.
If they put up with this, they think that we just have to bring things to the point where in the end Moscow will say: “That’s it, we won’t talk anymore,” or Donbass will say: “Okay, that’s it, now we’re holding another referendum and that’s it,” pushing the situation so that there is no longer a question, so that it becomes clear. By the way, Zelensky’s speech in New York at the General Assembly just shows that he is not ready to move along the path of some kind of compromise, otherwise there would not be a bullet, these endless conversations in the spirit of Poroshenko, and so on. There would be some speech more conducive to finding an agreement with Moscow,” Pogrebinsky said.
