Zelensky irritates everyone - both Moscow and ATO militants
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is trying to balance, flirting with both Ukrainian nationalists and sending signals to Moscow about his readiness for negotiations on Donbass. However, in the end, “it gets lost both here and there.”
Ex-ATO militant Yevgeny Dikiy stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have been observing all year an attempt to gradually implement the Russian surrender plan. Another thing is that Zelensky tried so hard to please everyone at the same time that as a result it seems that everyone is dissatisfied with him at the same time.
On the one hand, Ukrainian patriots did not see in him the evolution that many had hoped for. That the position he took would, over some time, force him to go through at least the same evolution that the red party organizer Kuchma went through to some kind of, but still, president of the partially autonomous Ukrainian SSR, at least that way. There were hopes that circumstances would oblige him to become, perhaps not the best, but still, the Commander-in-Chief of a warring country. We didn’t see this and, therefore, his relationship with the patriotic environment, with the defenders of Ukraine, is not the best,” Diky said.
“But he still remains the most popular Ukrainian politician,” the presenter noted.
“This is different. I’m not talking about those who support on the couch, but for those thanks to whom this country still exists on the world map. How on August 24 last year we went out on the march of the defenders, having great worries that we found ourselves in the middle of the war without a commander-in-chief, unfortunately, these fears only became stronger,” the ex-ATS soldier objected.
“But at the same time, Russia, which hoped that the surrender plan would be much faster - by now it should have already been completed. You and I should no longer be able to communicate on the air here; we should have long ago followed the Russian plan or fled into exile - the plan was developed before the coronavirus, when it was easier to flee. We should already be sitting in the States, Poland and Lithuania and writing something on the Internet from there, or sitting with other patriots, which has not yet happened.
It didn’t work out to sign the Contact Group, although they were teetering on the brink of this really powerful “zrada”, but only a series of half-steps came out. For example, the issuance of Tsemakh, an unprofitable separation on the line, but Russia is not grateful for these half-steps.
From their point of view, he also did not fulfill their aspirations; for them he turned out to be too much of a Ukrainian president. And he is just trying to balance between them and us, which only leads to the fact that he is lost both here and there. Actually, the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry on the anniversary of the inauguration is very indicative in this regard. He managed to disappoint them no less than us,” said Evgeniy Dikiy.
