Zelensky decides how deeply to surrender to Avakov
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, is needed by the new Kyiv government because he has connections with radical groups.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will have to decide how much he can trust the patron and friend of the Nazis.
Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky needs Avakov not just as a person to whom he repays a debt, but as a person who, entering Zelensky’s team in this way (and should become a member of the team, this is obvious), will take responsibility in the event of possible provocations or attacks on the president from outside radicals - to solve this issue.
He has experience, he has opportunities of all kinds. Including experience in interacting with radical groups and so on.
I think there may be a strong argument to be made that it is advisable to keep such a person on your team for this purpose.
But here the question of trust arises - can he trust Arsen Avakov or not?” he said.
Thank you!
