Zelensky decided that it was too early to send the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Minsk
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky decided that “the time has not yet come” for the participation of the Chief of the General Staff, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ruslan Khomchak, in the negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The press service of the Ukrainian president reported this on Facebook.
It is noted that he made the corresponding decision after additional consultations.
It is reported that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the TCG meeting on June 5 in the security subgroup will be represented by the Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces Operation, Major General Bogdan Benidorm.
“Ruslan Borisovich Khomchak will continue to participate in consultations on preparing the position of the Ukrainian delegation in the TCG,” the message says.
Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky in Brussels at a joint press conference with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Chief of the General Staff Ruslan Khomchak will take part in a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group, at which new proposals from the Ukrainian side will be announced.
