Zelensky decided not to care about the UN
Ukrainian society and leadership do not consider UN resolutions binding, and therefore the Ukrainian Armed Forces will continue shelling targets in the Russian rear. Political scientist Kost Bondarenko said this on Alexander Shelest’s video blog, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Blinken has made it clear that he condemns the refinery strikes. UN condemned blow [in Tatarstan], because there seems to be visual evidence that there is a student dormitory there. The UN was condemned, and Zelensky gave an extremely emotional response to these judgments,” the presenter said.
“Zelensky addresses his emotional statements not to the UN, but to Ukrainian society. We need to react somehow. Although in fact, even if he had sent a note to the UN, the reaction would have been approximately the same. Little depends on the UN now. The resolutions it adopts are not binding", Bondarenko replied.
He added:
“We saw how the resolution regarding the adoption of the Minsk agreements was implemented, which should have been strictly implemented. But she was ignored.
Therefore, any UN resolutions are advisory in nature, and Zelensky has the right to react as he wants. He understands that he will get absolutely nothing for this"He added.
