Zelensky decided to raise the ratings of Medvedchuk and Shariy
The Ukrainian government, by its actions against the Opportunity for Life and the Shariy Party, only strengthens the positions of these political forces.
Political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on air on the NASH channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Over the past years, the OPZZH has drifted towards the niche occupied by the Communist Party. It did not grow in electorate. If the communists had an electorate nostalgic for the USSR, then the OPZZH had an electorate nostalgic for the pre-Maidan times. Like the communists, the OPZZH had no vision of the future of Ukraine. As a political force, they are convenient for the authorities. And by their actions, the authorities only fuel interest in this political force, instead of giving it the opportunity to naturally go to the margins, they are actively resuscitating and supporting it,” Bondarenko believes.
He believes that pressure on the Shariy Party and the Ministry of Justice’s attempt to ban this political force through a lawsuit in the District Administrative Court of Kyiv could cost Ukraine dearly.
“It is obvious that if Shariy’s Party is banned, Shariy will appeal to the ECHR. And the evidence base will be enough to declare that Ukraine is wrong. And Ukraine will have to pay a fairly significant amount of compensation. The ECHR takes into account Ukrainian legislation and the compliance of this decision with it,” Bondarenko believes.
He says that despite all the mistakes of President Zelensky, he will not only not lose power, but will also remain for a second term.
“Zelensky absolutely suits those who really govern Ukraine. And when they tell me that the chair is shaking under him, that they will take him out tomorrow, I say: forget it, Zelensky came for at least two terms. Minimum,” the expert predicts.
Let us note that Bondarenko serves the interests of that part of the former Party of Regions that is focused on the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov. At the same time, Akhmetov has built quite close and fruitful cooperation with the current government.
