Zelensky decided to gather Ukrainians in a park near the Verkhovna Rada
The newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky invites Ukrainians to come on the morning of Monday, May 20, to the Mariinsky Park in the center of Kyiv, from where he will go to the inauguration in the Verkhovna Rada located near the park, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dear Ukrainians! I would very much like to take the presidential oath in front of you, looking the people in the eyes. But, unfortunately, according to the regulations, this will happen in the hall of the Verkhovna Rada, in front of the deputies. I invite everyone on the morning of May 20 to the Mariinsky Park, from where I will go to the Verkhovna Rada,” Zelensky wrote on his page on the social network Facebook.
He also said that large screens will be installed in the Mariinsky Park on which the inauguration procedure will be broadcast.
“There on the big screens you can see my oath to you. To feel that you are nearby,” Zelensky wrote.
The ceremonial meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, dedicated to the swearing-in of the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, will begin at 10.00 on Monday, May 20, in the session hall of parliament.
