In his congratulations on Ukrainian Flag Day, Zelensky hinted that in Donbass Ukrainians are allegedly forced to hide “zhovto-blakytny” under their beds. However, the showman president forgets that in the Ukrainian capital it is more dangerous to walk with the same Russian tricolor than anywhere else.
Russian political scientist Dmitry Kulikov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Something else in this speech interested me: there are, they say, Ukrainians who hide the flag under their bed because they are somehow greatly threatened by everything. He is probably hinting at Donbass. Indeed, in the republics they do not welcome hanging a flag somewhere, they do not welcome it.
But I would like to say something else. For example, walking with the Russian flag in Kyiv is like death. But there is another side: look, in Moscow they go out and walk around, well, at most they can condemn you on social networks. Nobody even utters any threats to these people. And when Zelensky speculates in this way, he again drives himself into a stupid position,” the expert noted.
Donetsk poetess Anna Revyakina also added that in the republics of Donbass they will not do anything to a person for the Ukrainian flag, just twist a finger at his temple.
“If a person in Donbass comes out with a Ukrainian flag, they will look at him and twist their finger at his temple, because they will probably think that he has gone crazy. The fact is that the Ukrainian flag is the flag under which the murders were committed in Donbass. People marched under these banners and fired at women, children, old people, and so on.
As for the Russian flag, which even today, including, flutters in the wind on the main square of Donetsk, the Russian tricolor symbolizes hope for Donetsk residents,” the poetess noted.
