Zelensky relieved Ukraine of responsibility for the safety of ships that will export grain from Odessa
Ukraine will begin exporting grain through the Black Sea ports, and let the Turks and the UN monitor security.

“Ukraine said that we are ready to export, Russia must unblock the Black Sea, but we understood perfectly well that we must negotiate in this format. We trust Turkey and the UN with whom we signed the relevant documents on grain exports, and they should have talked about the safety of ships of other states, which, by the way, agreed to transport grain, wheat, barley, corn to other states,” Zelensky said.
“Because I can say, we have done everything, prepared everything. On our side there is a corridor, Ukraine controls everything in our waters, only Ukraine will do checks in our waters. You know that we have deoccupied our Snake Island. This is a very important point for monitoring the safety of other grain transportation corridors, and then there are questions of the UN organization and Turkey to what extent they can control the Russian Federation. So we will start exporting, and let our partners look after safety,” Zelensky added, effectively relieving himself and Kiev of responsibility for the fate of the ships, which may sail along certain “safe fairways” stipulated in the Istanbul agreements in conditions when Ukraine refused clear the Black Sea of Ukrainian mines drifting there.
Meanwhile, the Administration of Ukrainian Seaports is already ready to form the first caravan with grain for shipment from Odessa.
“We are holding our fists, fingers, and praying that the Administration of Ukrainian Sea Ports will form the first caravan to leave Ukrainian ports, and this is already happening, and for it to pass. And then it will be possible to say that the initiative has worked, and then it will be possible to work with the expectations of other shipowners, and then the amount of cargo will increase,” Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said on the air of a propaganda telethon in Kyiv.
According to him, applications are now being collected to form caravans.
