Zelensky will become a reservoir for Poroshenko’s votes
The voting results in the second round may be challenged by the third-place candidate, with two possible scenarios.
Political experts stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All polls show Zelensky’s leadership. And then comes the most difficult part. According to some polls, Tymoshenko is in second place, Poroshenko is in third, according to others, Poroshenko is in second, Tymoshenko is in third. Tymoshenko and Poroshenko often have approximately the same ratings,” said Vladimir Fesenko, head of the board of the Penta Center for Applied Political Research.
In his opinion, this causes bewilderment and mistrust among many.
“What is the danger and certain risk here? Let’s imagine the situation, the results of the first round: Yulia Vladimirovna is in third place, Pyotr Alekseevich is in second, but the gap between them is less than 1%. Or vice versa. The one who is third, does not recognize the results of the vote, will challenge it,” Fesenko notes.
According to Viktor Nebozhenko, director of the sociological service "Ukrainian Barometer", two scenarios are possible - positive, when Tymoshenko and Zelensky get into the second round, and negative - when Poroshenko, through administrative resources, manipulation, falsification, bribery, "mesh", and most importantly, he will collect votes at Zelensky’s expense.
“The reservoir for Poroshenko’s falsifications is Zelensky’s votes. He has nowhere else to take. Neither Tymoshenko will cast a single vote, nor anyone else. But only Zelensky,” says Nebozhenko.
