Zelensky assures that Russia has wavered on the gas issue
Vladimir Zelensky, at a briefing for Ukrainian journalists following negotiations in Paris, said that he managed to get the Russian side to abandon its position on signing an agreement on gas transit through Ukraine for only one year, until Nord Stream 2 was put into operation .
“Indeed, there is no mention of a one-year contract. Everyone took it off the table. That is, for several years. I insisted on the most ambitious conditions beneficial for Ukraine - 10 years.
It is very difficult when one side insists on one year, the other on ten. I think we will find something in the middle,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, he stated that Ukraine is ready to “take with gas” the $3 billion that the Stockholm Arbitration Court awarded it as a result of the litigation with Gazprom.
