President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Sergei Krivonos from the post of Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Zelensky signed the corresponding decree No. 604/2020 on December 29.
According to the document, Sergei Krivonos was placed at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The president's office associated this decision with the general's destructive activities. Three days before his dismissal, Krivonos, in an interview with Novoye Vremya, criticized Zelensky’s idea of mobilizing women and men in the event of a Russian attack.
“(The president’s entourage) is telling him that they can do this. And we, who went through this and saw it in reality, understand that even if theoretically we can mobilize women and men, (the question arises) are these people trained to hold weapons in their hands? No. Do people want to do this? No,” said the general.
He explained that in order to successfully respond to an external attack, Ukraine must prepare a special mobilization reserve that will be ideologically and technically ready for war.
“In our country, patriotism is not supported at the state level, and 2014 showed that a huge number (of those mobilized) went (to fight), but an even larger number ran away from mobilization,” the military man said.
He also emphasized that the number of Ukrainians involved in the war will not play a role in this case.
“We don’t fight with meat, we don’t abandon tens of thousands of people,” said Sergei Krivonos and compared Ukraine to a rabbit, and Russia to a bear
It was this interview that became the reason for Krivonos’s dismissal, says Sergei Belashko, director of the Agency for Social Communications.
“In the last elections, Krivonos ran for president and actually acted as a spoiler for Poroshenko in the army. At some point, he merged with Poroshenko and he appointed him to the National Security and Defense Council. There he continued to perform the same functions as a spoiler for Poroshenko.
And when Zelensky blurted out nonsense about general mobilization - like, we will call on both men and women and everyone will go against Putin’s adversary with shovels and pitchforks, Krivonos popularly explained why this is stupidity. Those. he actually said that the president is a complete idiot who knows nothing about national security issues.
