Less than a month has passed since Zelensky’s exit from pre-election PR into the real public political field, but voters have already managed to understand that the elected president is not the person they imagined.
Political analyst Dmitry Korneychuk stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the few weeks that have already passed since the second round of elections, Ukrainians are already, in principle, aware of the model of behavior that Zelensky has chosen.
If before the first round and in the interval between the first and second round Zelensky was silent, then after the second round, when he had already become president, still without an inauguration, but in essence, he either began to say things that made people’s hairs on their heads stand up , or do something like that. Or deliberately keep silent about those topics that people really care about.
And the outflow of voters from Zelensky from those people who imagined President Zelensky is already beginning. Some imagined him to be a pro-Western politician, others - a pro-Russian one, but in the end it turns out that he is neither here nor there. The model of Zelensky’s behavior even after the inauguration is already clear.
It is clear that he will cooperate with the previous government, saying that he cannot change the prosecutor general, that he cannot hold early elections and cannot change ministers. And with Groysman, if you try, you can find a compromise.
People are beginning to understand the key thing - this virtual picture of President Zelensky, in which they invested primarily in the hope of punishing the previous government, all this turned out to be a picture. In practice, this is a completely different person,” Korneychuk diagnosed.
