Zelensky resorted to manipulation in Munich
During his speech at the Munich Security Forum, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky deliberately manipulated the facts, twisting them to suit the perception of an unprepared Western listener.
Experts came to this conclusion on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am not at all a supporter of believing that Zelensky is saying some nonsense, because he is so “stupid,” said the editor-in-chief of the German publication World Economy, political scientist Alexander Sosnovsky. – It seems to me that the words and formulations he uses are very well thought out and are in line with the information war. They fall on western soil, which is not plowed, but takes it well. He speaks in Munich primarily not counting on his voters, he speaks on Europe.”
“He says that everything can be solved, but Ukraine has been shelled more than 400 times. Wording: there were shellings of Ukraine. The German reader and politicians, and the same Merkel, will perceive this phrase in such a way that there really is a war going on, and Ukraine was shelled, not an internal Ukrainian conflict, which Zelensky is obliged, according to the Minsk agreements, to extinguish and resolve, no - Ukraine was shelled. He says “we didn’t start this war, but we will finish it.” It wasn't Ukraine that started this war? That is, if a Western viewer watches this, then he does not have the Maidan and the calls “Moskalyak to Gilyak” in his head,” the expert added.
The special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, for his part, confirmed the ambiguity of the Ukrainian president’s wording.
“Not even the answers, but Zelensky’s speech was stuffed with manipulative messages. Let's start with the fact that in the entire speech the Minsk agreements are never mentioned... The man manages to contradict himself in one sentence. He says: there will be disengagement areas on the line of contact, which will be agreed upon by the leaders of the Normandy format; now we have already agreed on one - where did you agree on what? Firstly, they did not agree, and secondly, where were the leaders of the Normandy format?
Such manipulations occur and at the same time the person names some numbers - 400 violations. They do not coincide with any data, they do not even coincide with the data of the Ukrainian OOS, not to mention the data of the OSCE or the Commissioner for Human Rights,” Miroshnik said.
“He cited the figure of 125 [thousand Russian passports that residents of Donbass received], but he did not give how many people they deprived of citizenship. How many people have they deprived of the opportunity to register the birth of a child, the act of death, to register the creation of a family, marriage or divorce - they have deprived people of the opportunity to access this system, which they traditionally continued to trust for some time, now these services are extremely unclaimed,” - added the LPR representative.
