Zelensky in the Rada implored to unite against “Russian aggression”
Ukrainian deputies and politicians must unite to resist “Russian aggression” and return Crimea and Donbass to the rule of Kyiv.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky during a ceremonial meeting of the Verkhovna Rada dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the “Day of Sovereignty of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dear people’s deputies, guests, Ukrainians. The thousand-year history of Ukraine contains many important documents. And the Declaration of State Sovereignty is without a doubt one of them. Today we celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the birth of this landmark document. Thirty years ago a confident step was taken towards finally gaining sovereignty. This declaration brought closer the victory of Ukrainians in the centuries-old struggle for a free and independent country.
July 16, 1990 became a historic day. Then the document was supported by 335 deputies from different parties... No one failed the declaration with the help of eight thousand amendments, with the help of resolutions and through the Constitutional Court,” the showman joked.
The Ukrainian president also called on deputies and politicians to unite to fight Russia and return the “occupied” territories to the rule of Kyiv.
“For the sixth year we have been defending our sovereignty from Russian aggression. We pay the highest price for this – the lives of our citizens. Today, the entire civilized world recognizes that Ukraine is doing everything for the coming of such a desired peace. A fair world. Peace in our understanding of the word.
Precisely the world where state sovereignty will dominate in reality, and not on paper. Yes, we have lost territory and some people, and we cannot return the dead. But we must return all territories and faith in truth and justice. So that what our heroes died for would not be in vain. We have a chance for this in one case – if we all unite, like thirty years ago,” Zelensky added.
Let us note that Crimea was reunited with Russia bloodlessly, and the war in Donbass was started by the Kiev junta led by the “bloody pastor” Turchinov.
