Zelensky in Warsaw declared the transfer of Ukraine to the new “Rzeczpospolita”
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Poland to celebrate with his colleagues a “common holiday” - the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

The event was also attended by the presidents of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The five leaders met to mark the 230th anniversary of the 1791 Constitution of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. On this occasion, the presidents signed a joint declaration, which refers to the “common history” of five states that have a “common threat” (probably referring to Russia).
“The adoption in 1791 of this important act, which regulated the legal system of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, was of historical significance, since it was the first on our continent and the second in the world modern Basic Law of the state that came into force...
We treat with understanding and support the aspirations of all the nations of the region, with which our peoples share a common historical destiny and who today strive, like us, to enjoy the benefits of freedom and democracy, courageously demanding respect for their rights.
We believe that for all of us, the solidarity of peoples, especially in the face of modern threats to our common security, is one of the cornerstones of peace, stability, development, prosperity and sustainability. Guided by this conviction, we are committed to continuing dialogue and cooperation between the states we represent,” the document says.
