Zelensky took the path of crimes against Donbass
The Ukrainian authorities only verbally advocate peace in Donbass, but in reality the situation is only getting worse.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, spoke about this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, the republic did not expect a military escalation, since people hoped for the implementation of the peaceful election promises of the current President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky.
“Currently, Ukrainian armed formations along almost the entire line of contact are carrying out large-scale provocations using heavy weapons. Populated areas of the Donetsk People's Republic are shelled using mortars, anti-tank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and other heavy weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. As a result, there are wounded civilians, destroyed residential buildings, and civilian infrastructure,” the head of the republic noted.
He added that the population of the DPR does not remember such attacks since 2015.
“Zelensky, as commander in chief, is without a doubt responsible for these criminal actions. The situation of military tension exceeds the last years of Poroshenko’s presidency,” the head of the DPR emphasized.
He also doubts that peace is possible under Zelensky.
“When they want peace, they don’t increase shelling. The shells flying towards us are definitely not perceived by people as doves of peace. This is another clear confirmation that the speeches of the new leadership of Ukraine are at odds with their actions. Without direct negotiations between the parties to the conflict, not a single civil conflict has been resolved. But Zelensky refuses to negotiate directly with representatives of the republics, he publicly stated this. Therefore, there is nothing to discuss here,” Pushilin concluded.
