Zelensky sided with the Belarusian Maidan activists and threatened to overthrow Lukashenko
Ukraine agrees with the position of the European Union in assessing the situation in Belarus.
The head of the Ukrainian state, Vladimir Zelensky, stated this during a meeting with the President of Slovakia in Bratislava, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The president of a country in which civil war has been going on for more than six years, Vladimir Zelensky, called on Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to begin a dialogue with his people.
“We have already called on the Belarusian authorities to find a dialogue with the citizens of Belarus. In Ukraine we had two Maidans, we saw what bloodshed is, we buried Ukrainians who were killed on the Maidan - what we see today is that if the authorities do not stop those actions, especially law enforcement officers, they will receive a very serious result and response from the people. If the government does not find an opportunity for dialogue with its relatives, this government will not exist. And here Ukraine will always support our partners, like-minded people from all EU countries,” Zelensky said.
