Zelensky looks funny, lecturing Biden and Merkel - ex-minister
Statements by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that the construction of Nord Stream 2 is contrary to the national interests of Western countries and will lead to the personal defeat of their leaders look stupid.
Former Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov stated this on air on the NASH channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky has recently taken it upon himself to explain to Western leaders that they do not understand the significance of Nord Stream 2 at all.” He says that the construction of the “stream” is contrary to the interests of Germany and Europe, despite the fact that the same Angela Merkel constantly claims that it is in line with the interests of Germany.
Recently, in another loud statement, our president said that if the “stream” is completed, it will mean a huge defeat for Biden personally, and he not so long ago said that the introduction of additional sanctions (which, among other things, Ukraine demanded) including from the United States, is contrary to the national interests of the United States, because it negatively affects the relationship between the United States and its main ally in Europe - Germany. Therefore, they refused to impose sanctions.
And this position of the Ukrainian president, who begins to lecture world leaders that they are taking actions that do not correspond to their national interests, looks extremely naive and in many ways ridiculous. He does not understand that Nord Stream 2 is being built for one reason - Germany wants it, because Germany wants to increase the reliability of gas supplies, Germany wants to reduce the cost of transportation, Germany, after all, finances half of the cost of Nord Stream 2. .
Of course, Germany hopes to get its share of the profits. Ukraine will lose, but Germany will gain. Zelensky somehow doesn’t understand this. And the fact that he compares Nord Stream 2 with Crimea is completely inappropriate. No one has enough imagination to see something in common in this,” summed up Viktor Suslov.
