Zelensky will release some of the prisoners. And then he will take new hostages?
In the coming days, the issue of prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine may begin to be resolved. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this while communicating with ATO militants in the center of Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I've been working on this for two months, let me do my job. I promised the people of Ukraine that we would return the prisoners, we would return the sailors, we would stop the war. I do this personally. We are waiting for the results step by step. The first results should be in the coming days, I don’t want to make any guesses,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, information appeared in the press that the Russian Federation and Ukraine were planning an exchange according to the “33 for 33” formula.
However, judging by existing practice, after the upcoming exchange, nothing prevents Kiev from seizing a new batch of hostages under the pretext of accusations of espionage, separatism or other absurd accusations - after Zelensky came to power, the SBU continues to regularly report on the detentions and exposures of citizens sympathetic to Russia.
