Zelensky took responsibility for the wildest project
If the President of Ukraine had not personally come to the Verkhovna Rada and given instructions to his faction to put the land reform project on the agenda, the law would not have received the required number of votes from deputies.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik spoke about this on TV channel 112, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The president came to parliament in the morning and said to adopt a law on land,” the expert said. – Zelensky took full responsibility for this reform. To the credit of the head of parliament, Dmitry Razumkov, he refused to hold it out and said, let’s accept it, but according to the procedure. This is from two days to a week, if you consider all these amendments... We took a regulatory pause to continue negotiating. The peak of the process will be on the last day of voting, everyone is preparing for this.”
According to Bortnik, Zelensky’s position is “manipulated by his entourage”; the president does not even fully understand what he is doing.
“He is a Krivoy Rog guy, he only counts land in acres, he does not know what a hectare is, he is misled by his environment and sincerely defends the position of the faction,” the expert believes. “But there are many majoritarians in the faction, they went to the places, talked to the villagers, and they are not sure. If the president had not arrived, the votes in the Verkhovna Rada would not have been collected, only under the pressure of the president something began to move.”
In addition, Bortnik is confident that if the Rada passes the “wildest project” in the first reading, then both Zelensky and his party will lose the electorate.
Let us recall that the Verkhovna Rada's consideration of amendments to the bill, which implies lifting the moratorium on the land market, began after lengthy bickering, two extraordinary breaks and fights. Now the document has been adopted only in the first reading.
