Zelensky spoke Chinese and received a big reward
The series “Servant of the People - 2”, starring the current President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, was recognized as the best film in China, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
Studio “Kvartal 95” reports this.
“For the first time in the history of Ukrainian-Chinese relations, the Days of Ukrainian Cinema were held within the framework of the Second PAF Festival in Chongqing. The organizer of the screenings is the company “Studio “Golden Fleece” with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema, with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in China, in partnership with Ukraine International Media Culture,” the statement says.
The series received the award in the category “Best Foreign Film” at the 2nd Pioneer Art Film Festival, which was held in the Chinese city of Chongqing.
The award in China was presented to the representative of the Ukrainian State Film Agency Artem Golosov, and not to the producers of the series.
This is not the first success of the series “Servant of the People”. At the beginning of 2019, the American streaming service Netflix bought the rights to show the series Servant of the People from the Kvartal 95 studio. Before this, in September 2016, it was reported that the series was bought by the American studio Fox. In Ukraine, the film “Servant of the People-2” became one of the box office leaders in 2017, taking second place after the romantic comedy “8 Best Dates.”
