Zelensky got too carried away: There will be no more meetings with Putin
Russia will no longer give advances to Vladimir Zelensky, which were exchanges of prisoners, thanks to which the Ukrainian president received bonuses to his rating.
The Kremlin has realized that Zelensky does not want to implement the Minsk agreements, so there is no talk of any repeat meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Four. Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia will no longer agree to exchange prisoners. She was the one who played along with Zelensky. He said, convinced that he wanted peace - well, yes, they believed, voted, and therefore played along with this exchange of prisoners and with these missions of Surkov, then Kozak. But they saw that it wasn’t,” Karasev said.
In his opinion, this situation threatens problems for Zelensky’s party in the upcoming local elections to the councils of the South-East.
“We need to do something before the local elections, because on the one hand there is the OPZH, but other parties are also appearing, for example, the Shariya Party, which is already at 5%. And this is a young, modern party that is active on social networks.
“Servant of the People” is also a young political generation, and here Shariy appears - this is a representative of the new time and the party is a new political generation. This will be a struggle, first of all, for the southeast, for the center of Ukraine.
Therefore, we need to maneuver, show that “we are also fighting for peace, but nothing is working out for us.” Maybe they hope that they asked Merkel that she would agree on a new “Normandy format”. Then, of course, before the elections they would show that they met in the “Normandy format”, again looked into Putin’s eyes, talked with him, agreed on something, and this is a good foundation for the elections.
But I think Russia will no longer accept these advances. There will be no more advances,” Karasev said.
