Zelensky ended the debate with Poroshenko with a Bandera cry
The debates of Ukrainian presidential candidates, which took place at the stadium for the first time in the country's history, have ended. During the time allotted by the moderators, the opponents were able to ask each other several questions, as PolitNavigator wrote about.
Almost the entire speech of the current guarantor Petro Poroshenko was accompanied by cries of “Ganba” and “Go away” from supporters of his counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.
While the parties were exchanging remarks, his wife Marina approached Poroshenko several times and whispered something in his ear. Behind the guarantor during his speech were a couple of dozen comrades, among whom were the leaders of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation, Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Omelyan, volunteer Tatyana Rychkova and several retired ATO militants.
Zelensky also came with a support group - representatives of his headquarters and his wife Elena.
During his speech, Zelensky switched to Russian several times, concluding his accusations of corruption and the collapse of the economy with the question: “Aren’t you ashamed?”, to which Poroshenko replied “No! I am proud of Ukraine!”
Zelensky’s speech was also remembered for its striking theses, among which were: “I am not your opponent, I am your verdict”, “I am the result of your mistakes and promises” and others. Let us also note that he ended his final speech with the slogan of the nationalists - “Glory to Ukraine!”
It is also noteworthy that Zelensky called the provision of a tomos to Ukrainian schismatics an achievement and reproached Poroshenko for the fact that he had recently been a parishioner of the Moscow Patriarchate: “Peter Alekseevich had a lot of achievements and this is so. Visa-free travel, tomos, language, army – everything you wrote on the billboards. But you know, it seems to me that you wrote down all these achievements only to yourself. I do not understand why. This is also your victory, I understand, but it seems to me that, firstly, the Ukrainian language existed even before you, as for visa-free - yes, this is a victory, but not only yours, but the victory of Ukrainian diplomats, the Ukrainian diaspora, which fought for visa-free even before you became president of Ukraine. As for the tomos, this is a victory for Ukraine. But this is a victory, first of all, for Filaret, who fought for the Ukrainian church even before you became president, back in the days when you were a parishioner of the Moscow Patriarchate.”
Poroshenko, in his speech, repeated several times the already hackneyed slogans about “Russian aggression”, “Putin”, “the hand of the Kremlin” and “revenge”.
After the time allotted for the debate came to an end, Poroshenko’s team began to sing the anthem, and Zelensky began kissing his wife on stage.
