After the interim decision of the tribunal on the law of the sea, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky expects Russia to release the Navy sailors detained in November last year during an illegal attempt to cross the state border of the Russian Federation.
The Ukrainian president wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia’s compliance with the order of the UN International Tribunal to release captured Ukrainian sailors and ships may become the first signal from the Russian leadership of real readiness to end the conflict with Ukraine. In this way, Russia can take a step towards unblocking negotiations and solving the problems it has created in a civilized way. Let's see what path the Kremlin will choose. But we are really looking forward to our guys at home!” Zelensky said.
True, in the comments to the post, Zelensky was pointed out that this decision does not matter for Russia.

As PolitNavigator reported, today the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg supported Ukraine's position, which demands that Russia release the participants in the provocation - an attempt to break through the Russian border near the Kerch Strait at the end of 2018 - 24 crew members of three Ukrainian Navy ships.
