Zelensky declared Ukraine’s right to the Russian language
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky decided to share rights to the Russian language with Russia.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in his communication with journalists, the head of state said that Russian is not the property of Russia and in fact admitted that there is a civil war in his country, in which people who speak the same language are fighting among themselves.
“We are in such a difficult situation, in a war. We understand that anything related to Russia or the Russian language causes tension. Although I believe that the Russian language is not the property of Russia,” Zelensky said.
“As an example, I was in the Dnepropetrovsk region, I argued and argued with those who said: “Well, Ukrainian-speaking people fought with Russian-speaking people.” I invite everyone to Dnepropetrovsk now. I say, go to the museum and take a look. Most of the people who died in Ukraine were from the Dnepropetrovsk region. And in the Dnepropetrovsk region, most of the people who died were from Krivoy Rog, my hometown. And this is not about people - it just happened. It’s not about the fact that in the West the heroes are not the same - they are the same heroes, it just happened that way. But the people who died spoke Russian and Ukrainian. That’s what I’m talking about,” Zelensky said.
