Zelensky will be hated by all of Ukraine
Comedian Vladimir Zelensky, if he wins the second round of presidential elections in Ukraine, will become the second Petro Poroshenko.
This opinion was expressed by Kiev political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“If Zelensky can become president, after the end of his term in office he will not return to show business. All of Ukraine will hate him. On the other hand, if he loses now, tickets to his performances will rise significantly. It’s one thing to look at a clown, and quite another to look at a clown who was elected to the presidency,” Bondarenko said.
In his opinion, Zelensky was not going to participate in the second round, but when during the election race it became clear that the ratings were so high, he decided that there was nowhere to retreat.
“Once in the presidential chair, Zelensky will be in many ways similar to Poroshenko. For example, it will find itself in exactly the same dependence on the United States. The same American advisers who stood around Poroshenko will be next to Zelensky. In this regard, I think that disappointment in the “servant of the people” will come even faster than in the case of Poroshenko’s first term. This will be due to the fact that voters have too high expectations of Zelensky. People vote not so much for him as for his stage image of Goloborodko,” the political scientist concluded.
