Zelensky was unanimously recognized as the weakest Ukrainian president
In the first weeks of his presidency, Vladimir Zelensky turned out to be a very weak leader, with whom neither the Verkhovna Rada nor the government takes into account.
Journalist and TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For the umpteenth time in his short presidency, Zelensky is in a situation where we can say frankly that he is a weakling. He promised peace to Ukraine, but the nationalists do not allow him to take even a step towards a truce. The Verkhovna Rada declared an Italian strike and is simply mocking Zelensky. They did not accept a single ministerial resignation, they did not consider a single presidential bill.
And then the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry gave Zelensky some trouble: they wrote him a text copied from Poroshenko’s speech. It turned out that Foreign Ministry employees simultaneously work for both Zelensky and Poroshenko. I don’t have my own team, but if only I had taken the authors from the 95th Quarter, it would have been more fun. They simply humiliated him, just think about it: they turned the president of a neighboring country into a laughing stock, unable to solve a single problem,” Soloviev marvels.
The host of the program, political scientist Sergei Mikheev, also emphasized that by demonstrating such disrespect for presidential power, the parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers are spitting in the face of the majority of Ukrainian voters.
“This is an attempt to spit in the face of 73% of voters. Now the people who are in power both in parliament and in the Cabinet of Ministers - they show all 15 million, here is the parliament, elected, by the way, the parliament and the government appointed by the once elected parliament, approved, at least they spit in the face and they say to these people: “And we are from your president, you elected a clown, we will make him a clown, we will not let him leave the rank of clown, he will be a clown, and we will rule.”
They tell him this, they impose on him the rules of the game, according to which they say: “In this corridor you can move, but we won’t give you any other way,” the expert added.
Former people's deputy from the Communist Party of Ukraine Spiridon Kilinkarov, in turn, noted that any new Ukrainian president has workarounds for appointing his people to key positions, but Zelensky gives in and does not use them.
“This is not the first change of power. Any other president who came, if he did not have the tools in the Verkhovna Rada, to make some kind of personnel rotation, made it directly, deputies were changed, deputies were appointed and everyone walked past the office of the head of the first, but all issues were resolved: criminal cases were initiated and so on .
That is, he must demonstrate, you know, as they say: “If he is strong, he will be recognized. If he’s not strong, he won’t be recognized.” So far, today I don’t even see absolutely any actions aimed at making everyone understand that a new president has appeared in Ukraine, so that everyone understands, as he said, that the law has come to the country. But so far I haven’t seen this,” the politician concluded.
