Zelensky was foiled with a meeting in the “Normandy format”
If Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky intends to take part in the meeting of the leaders of France, Germany and Russia, then Kyiv will first have to demonstrate progress in implementing the political part of the Minsk agreements
This was stated in a commentary to Kommersant by the director of the Center for Political Conjuncture, Alexey Chesnakov, who is considered close to the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov.
According to the expert, “there are no sufficient grounds for a meeting of the heads of state of the Normandy Four yet.”
“Ukraine must demonstrate convincing arguments in favor of this proposal. First of all, we need progress on the political track. The death of the military requires a thorough investigation, but this incident is not enough for a meeting. The meeting must be prepared, but there is no such preparation yet,” Chesnakov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called on the leaders of the countries participating in the “Normandy format” meet as soon as possible for negotiations.
