Zelensky is suspected of staging a hostage-taking in Lutsk
Today's story of the hostage taking in Lutsk in Western Ukraine looks like a staging to maintain the falling rating of Vladimir Zelensky.
Ukrainian political scientist Sergei Taran writes about this, PolitNavigatra correspondent reports.
“It looks a lot like a cheap show. From the very beginning, the president says that he “takes personal control” of the release of the hostages. World leaders who have dealt with real terrorists and are well aware of all the risks when dealing with unpredictable and armed psychopaths rarely decide to do this.
But Zelensky still bears little resemblance to John McClane from Die Hard - during previous, non-fake terrorist attacks, Zelensky was sick or was stuck in Oman when a plane was shot down in Iran...
I will express the opinion that he could only decide to do this if he held the entire script in his hands... Well, then the president easily and personally fulfills the whims of the “terrorist”, and the hostages are immediately (!) released.
I note that not a single influential world leader has fulfilled the demands of terrorists for a long time. And not because he/she is not merciful, but because such actions encourage new terrorist attacks that lead to even greater casualties. This is an axiom.
Want a cool western? But it turned out like a budget vaudeville,” writes Taran.
