Zelensky will be allowed in after the “mandatory anti-Russian program” – Karasev
Anti-Russian statements by President Vladimir Zelensky’s team and himself are elements of a “mandatory program” that must be fulfilled in order not to lose support in Western Ukraine and among nationalists.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, after this “mandatory program” is completed, the position of the new Ukrainian government will change to a more rational one.
“There will be some corrections. This is a request from those voters who chose the new government. If they do not do this, they will not find their voters there, on the other side, where Vakarchuk, Poroshenko and so on are. And here they can lose. I think these are maneuvers for now. You know, sometimes skaters need to skate a compulsory program, and then the free program comes.
What is a mandatory program - well, say “aggressor”, “Nord Stream is bad”, say some other things that everyone seems to like. And then we get good marks for the compulsory program and then the free program. It will already be serious there. I think there will be some kind of correction,” Karasev said.
Earlier, the new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk said that at his recent meeting with US representatives Zelensky asked them to strengthen sanctions against Russia in response to the decision to issue Russian passports to the population of the Donbass republics.
Danilyuk also noted that American sanctions could concern construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which is not beneficial to Ukraine.
