Zelensky was warned that without special status and amnesty there will be no peace
Today, in the person of the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who won the elections, one can see the former president in a “new wrapper.”
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by Denis Denisov, director of the Institute of Peacemaking Initiatives and Conflictology.
“During the election race, Zelensky avoided any specifics about his actions after the victory, and now he is trying to do the same. At the same time, on the one hand, he makes encouraging statements about his readiness to negotiate with Russia and even restore relations, and on the other hand, he actually duplicates the statements of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko.”
“In practice, no matter what Zelensky says, if Kyiv does not grant the DPR and LPR a special status and conduct an amnesty, the conflict in Donbass will not end. In fact, we see the same Poroshenko, but in a new wrapper. Poroshenko also talks about the need to comply with the Minsk agreements and sabotages them himself,” Denisov emphasized.
