Zelensky was invited to the NATO summit. American generals are eager to fight Russia
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed the invitation to the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to take part in the Madrid summit of the Alliance.
This is stated in the corresponding document published on the NATO website.
“In two weeks, allies will meet for a historic transformation summit in Madrid, and will make decisions to keep NATO strong in a more dangerous world. Today we had an excellent discussion about preparations for it, including the need for strong support for Ukraine - both short-term and longer term. I look forward to congratulating President Zelensky, who will address NATO leaders during our summit in Madrid,” Stoltenberg said.
He also said that in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the alliance has strengthened its defense capabilities, including increasing the combat readiness of forces and their forward presence.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Madrid summit, retired American generals called on NATO to intervene in the situation in Ukraine
“NATO must intervene. Let's make it official and tell the Russians to cease fire. The conflict cannot be stopped without NATO intervention,” said former US and NATO Allied Commander Wesley Clark.
